The contract underwritten between CAEI and the agro workers establishes the payable rates by tonne of manually cut cane, according to the type of cut, as well as payment terms and the attendance registration system for cane cutting.
The CAEI Consortium informed of several registration and contracting drives for the cane cutters that will partake in the coming harvest, with which the company underwrote the labor contracts that detail the benefits and labor conditions, as well as mechanisms which ensure the rights of the workers according to the currently enforced national legislations.
During those drives the company performed a series of medical consultations, among them, blood pressure readings, dermatology consults, ophthalmology and vaccinations for all agro workers hired to cut the cane; they were all oriented on the company’s safety, hygiene and occupational health programs.
Also, shirts, tools and PPEs were delivered to all workers, according to all requirements featured in the OHSAS 18001:2007 Norm, a certificaction recently granted to the Ingenio Cristóbal Colón for all processes involved in cane cutting.
