In the just started mill, CAEI plans to process 1,015,000 tons

DURING THIS SEASON, THE SUGAR CANE PRODUCTION WILL TAKE PLACE WITHIN 220 DAYS

Santo Domingo.  CAEI began their 2013-2014 harvest season, amid which it has projected a production of 110,000 metric tons of sugar within a term of 220 days.

The consortium has noted that within their framework for expansion in recent years, they have made large-scale investments in the field as well as in the plant, aiming to maintain the milling in optimum conditions, processing some 6,000 tons per day, asides consolidating environmental investments, especially the water cooling tower and the wastewater treatment plant (PTAR).

The tower, which processes all the factory water, in closed circuit, does not rely on any other source for sugar production, and reduces temperature as well as consumption, achieving better water quality control and helping to protect the environment. Meanwhile, the wastewater treatment plant allows for treatment of excess process water that is used to irrigate all fields located within the vicinity of the sugar mill.
