CAEI Supports Quisqueya Plan, SPM

Contributions. The municipal authorities met with community representatives to agree to the budget and works to develop this year.

Quisqueya, San Pedro de Macorís. The Quisqueya Town Hall in San Pedro de Macorís, presented the Municipal Development Plan, that will oversee all actions by this demarcation until 2016 in the fields of economy, education, health, sports, environment and institutional strengthening. The plan, created with the support of the CAEI Consortium, and Constructora Castelar, was approved at the First Municipal Development Congress Session, celebrated at the Club Los Pinos, of this township.

The Quisqueya mayor, Pedro Ozuna, affirmed that the development plan will serve as grounds for progress in the town, because it will contribute to improving the conditions of life of its residents. He assured that with this plan, the Quisqueya Township is paving its way towards success on firm steps and with a clear vision concerning the main pillars to develop. Ozuna pointed out the effort and integration of the Quisqueya residents so this project could become a reality, and said this community must feel proud that its men and women have joined in to support this initiative.

“The Quisqueya authorities have wanted for the People to own this project and we have achieved it; the town has had a massive and enthused participation in the round tables as well as congress sessions”, Ozuna said. Meanwhile, the CAEI Sustainability Director, Ana María González, congratulated the Quisqueya community for the work done in order to achieve the community’s development.

He considered that the Quisqueya Development Plan is a different and innovative work which will transcend in the future, as it was intended, because it features the support of the community and the mayor. “This project has proven that the community has decided to improve, that its heart is set on this project, and that it is eager to work and wants to work together for its development, Ozuna said.

The CAEI executive emphasized that the plan coincides with the commitment held by the consortium in improving the conditions of life of the residents living in the surrounding areas. “We are committed to supporting and following up on this project so this dream becomes a reality” González said.

EGE HAINA Sponsors the PUCMM Masters in Renewable Energy Program

SANTO DOMINGO.- EGE HAINA and the PUCMM underwrote a sponsorship agreement for the Masters Degree Program in Renewable Energy, to be taught at this Center for Higher Learning.

During the signing of the agreement, which took place in the PUCMM Rectory Meeting Hall, Tito Sanjurjo, GM for EGE HAINA, and Monsignor Agripino Núnez, Rector of the PUCMM established the annual contribution of USD$30,000.00 (thirty thousand American dollars) for funding partial scholarships to students whom enroll in the program at the University; the sponsorship of local travels for project study and observation purposes, to companies dedicated to this field, and to the development of conferences and workshops specialized in the matter.

“We feel immensely satisfied by signing this contract which binds our organizations to mutual collaboration, given that it will result in benefiting the energy sector through the educational training of new professionals, skilled with the technological mastery necessary to incur in this branch” said Monsignor Núnez.

The PUCMM Chancellor expressed that “one day will come when the electricity issue is no longer a concern, thanks in great deal to initiatives of this nature. So we thank and congratulate EGE HAINA for its vision and long-term commitment”.

The Masters in Renewable Energy of the PUCMM is aimed at professionals within the fields of Engineering, Business, Science, Architecture, and any other technical-scientific area. It offers dual accreditation, in combination with the prestigious EOI- Escuela de Organización Industrial, of Spain.

The contract, underwritten by Tito Sanjurjo, GM for EGEHAINA, and Monsignor Agripino Núnez Collado, PUCMM Chancellor, establishes an annual contribution issued by EGEHAINA for USD$30,000.00 for purposes of financing partial scholarships to all students whom enroll for the program.
